MARAS &
MORAY - RIDING THE INCA LAND

This is an excellent
tour to do in one day, combining the Andean landscapes,
archaelogical sites, local culture and traditional
villages. All down hill!
Moray has four circular terraces into the earth like an
artificial crater. Maras is one of the most important
salt mines of the region. Beautiful scenery!

At 7am we pick you up from
the hotel and travel by own private vehicle to Chincheros,
which takes 40 minutes. Here we begin our cross country
biking tour on the nice Andean landscape. We visit Lake
Huaypo, Maras-Moray, Salt mining and finally enjoy doing
downhill biking to Urubamba in the Sacred Valley. Maras is
an Inca settlement, and is a place named Salineras, are
extensive terracing salt areas, controlled, and used since
before Inca days. This trip is for beginners, and experience
bikers, you can choose to ride in asphalt road, dirt road
and single trucks. Will be a nice experience mixing the
sport and knowledge of the Inca culture. After 5 hours
biking 35km stopping at different view points. The lunch is
at Urubamba and then back to Cusco. |

At 7 am. We pick you up from your
hotel and 30 minutes travel by our own private
jeep to Abra Ccoroa on 3600m, here is the begin
point for our downhill – cross country mountain
biking into the Sacred valley of the Incas.
Safety orientation regarding all the gear of our
bikes, the protective gears, and description of
the route. From here we will descent on nice
asphalt road (beginners) or riding in the single
trucks for experience bikers.
In Pisaq (2970m) it is possible
to do a short hike to visit the archaeological
remains of the Incas time, visit the Andean
market and continue biking along the greenness
sacred valley on the right bank of the river
connecting to Qoya, Lamay, Calca, Urubamba
(2880m) and Ollantaytambo (2850m) riding on
asphalt road without traffic and getting
wonderful views of terracing, colony churches
and also, people working the mother earth.
After 4 to 5 hours pedalling 33mi (52km) we will
be in Ollantaytambo, have lunch and travel back
to Cusco arriving at 3 to 4pm and end of
service.
